ICBC Online Renewals: BCautorenew changes

The following enhancements are added to BCautorenew Service as of March 17th, 2022 to accommodate the ICBC online renewal related changes:

Renewal Policy Page:

A new field Eligible For Online Renewals is available on the renewal policy page to inform broker agents about ICBC online renewal eligibility of the policy.

Email and Text Message Templates:

A new merge field <%EligibleForOnlineRenewals%> (similar to <%PolicyNumber%>) is available in email/text message reminder template editors. This allows brokers to configure their reminder templates informing customers whether they can renew their policies online. The merge field will be replaced by the following content in the reminders:

  • If eligible for online renewals: Your policy is eligible for ICBC online renewal. Please contact us if you require any assistance.

  • if not eligible for online renewals: Please note that your policy is not eligible for ICBC online renewal.

Please only include this information for reminder periods covering policies with expiry dates of April 30th, 2022 and beyond (policies with expiry date prior to April 30th, 2022 are not eligible).

Thank You email

The configuration is broken down into 2 separate categories based on in-person or online renewal. Brokers can configure the content of each category and send Thank You notes based on how customers renewed their policies. Your current Thank You email setup will continue working as is for in-person renewals.

Thank You text message

A new feature of Thank You text message is available with the same concept as Thank You email for in-person and online renewals.
